Can my windshield be repaired?

Acting quickly on a repair can save you from needing a complete windshield replacement, as long as the damage:

  • Is smaller than a toonie
  • Is located outside the driver's line of sight
  • Is at least 4 cm away from the edge of the windshield
  • Involves no more than three chips

Prevent bigger problems down the road

It is highly advised to repair your windshield before the damage worsens.

Most windshield cracks start as small chips and progressively worsen. That's why it's important to act quickly and repair the glass. Repairing a chip early on stops it from turning into a larger crack, which could weaken the windshield and affect its safety.

Repairing a chip will reinforce your windshield’s strength and avoid the hassle and cost of a complete replacement.

What happens during a windshield repair service?

  1. Damage assessment

We start by carefully inspecting the windshield to evaluate the extent of the damage and determine if a repair is feasible.

  2. Cleaning and preparation

The affected area is thoroughly cleaned, removing any debris or moisture from the chip to ensure proper adhesion of the repair materials.

  3. Resin application

Using a high-pressure tool, we inject a specialized resin into the damaged area. This clear, strong polymer fills the chip, restoring the windshield’s integrity. The resin used can vary depending on the windshield.

  4. Curing process

The resin is then cured, typically with ultraviolet light, which hardens the material and ensures a strong bond with the glass, reinforcing the windshield.

  5. Final check and lifetime warranty

We finish with a thorough inspection of the repair. Our repairs are backed by a lifetime guarantee—if the repair develops a crack later on, we’ll credit the cost toward a windshield replacement.

Frequently asked questions

Can I be assured that the chip will not show after the repair of my windshield?

Unfortunately, no.

A windshield chip repair prevents further damage to your glass and restores the structural integrity of the vehicle. However, following a repair, a slight blemish or imperfection where the impact occurred is normal.

The good news is that, in most cases, you’ll notice a big improvement in the appearance of your windshield. In the unlikely event that a crack would form from the repaired chip, we’ll credit the cost of the repair towards a windshield replacement.

Check out the Guarantees section of our website for more details.

Why is it important where on my windshield the impact occurred?

Because it could determine if a repair or replacement is necessary.

If the impact is located in the driver’s line of vision, we might be able to repair the damage; however, since this would affect your visibility, the safer option is likely to replace your windshield.

Also, if the impact is located too close to the body of the vehicle, we won’t be able to use the equipment needed to repair the damage, and the windshield will have to be replaced anyway.

Is it possible to have more than one impact repaired?

We can repair up to three (3) impact points. If your windshield has more than three, its strength is likely compromised, and, therefore, we recommend replacing it for your safety.
